Crown's description of this room is unusually specific: a richly upholstered chaise lounge, a large marble writing desk with two chairs, floor-to-ceiling windows, and rooms "designed to create the feeling of being in a suite". At 47 m² that is not marketing inflation. For comparison inside the same tower, it is exactly the floor area of the Premier rooms that cost more.
The bathroom is where the room earns its place. Crown lists a spacious ensuite with double vanities, a separate rain shower and a deep soaking bath with a television built in. You can shower while someone else uses the bath. On a short stay that sounds like a small thing; on a morning before a flight it is not.
What is missing
No view is promised. The page talks about "an abundance of light", which is what floor-to-ceiling glass gives you, but it never mentions the river or the skyline the way the Premier pages do. Turndown is not on the amenity list either. Neither is a separate seating room, which is fair at this level.
For
- Same floor area as the Premier rooms.
- Desk for two and a chaise lounge.
- Bath plus separate rain shower.
- Connecting rooms on request.
Against
- No written view promise.
- Personal bar and in-room dining are charged.
- No turndown listed.
My view
If you are coming for the pool, the theatre or a game and will spend little daylight in the room, the Deluxe King is the right room and the obvious place to save. If you want to wake up to the Swan River, read the Premier King review before deciding.
